第44回：fall into two camps（意味：2つのグループに分かれる）

意味

近年、日本で人気のキャンプですが、”camp” にはそれ以外にも「（意見や思想などを同じくする）グループ、仲間、同志」といった意味もあります。

そして、”fall into two camps” は、何かに対する意見や思想などが「2つのグループに分かれる」という意味で使われる表現です。

two の部分は可変で、例えば 3つのグループに分類される場合は、”three camps” となります。

• fall into two camps (fall into 2 camps)
• fall into tree camps (fall into 3 camps)
• fall into four camps (fall into 4 camps)
• ・・・

といった具合です。
